June 2012 We really enjoyed our stay, everything we needed in the Gite and more, although prefer stronger bottle opener on desert island! Cannot think of any other complaint. This, after 30 years regular visiter to France. Full of admiration for your bold adventure to up sticks from the UK and sincerely wish you well for the future. Daisys especially. Please take not of Julias restaurant recommendations including, Floating pontoon at Rouffiac, the Cafe de te in Saintes - inexpensive friendly lovely setting. Thought the Moulin food not brilliant although worth a visit once, if only for the ambience. Definately, one of our best holidays, no wish to return ( home I mean! ) John and Sue Garside

We are an English couple who live in France and like to take regular breaks in various parts of France in properties ranging from farms to châteaux, I have to say that Gite de Calme is the best place we have ever stayed. Julia and Robert make you feel so at home, the accommodation is stunning, the website and photos do not do it justice, if ever you have been disappointed then this is for you, if it was possible for you to feel the rooms atmosphere and the total ambiance on the website, you would have a warm feeling inside you now:) Truly a relaxed home from home experience in a great part of France.
